My Current Tech Stack

I constantly research and utilize a range of technologies for productivity, security, and pleasure as a tech and privacy enthusiast. This is a detailed list of all the devices I currently use to improve my digital life.

Software and Tools

I utilize a range of software solutions that streamline my workflow and enhance my digital security:

  • Terminal: Hyper for a customizable command-line experience.
  • Note Taking: Obsidian for creating markdown notes.
  • Password Manager: Strongbox for secure credential management.
  • VPN: Mullvad. Unquestionably the most private and secure VPN service available.
  • DNS: NextDNS for personalized security and DNS filtering.
  • Expense Tracker: Paytodo for efficient money management.
  • Folder Encryption: VeraCrypt for secure file and folder encryption.
  • Browsers: Mullvad Browser for improved privacy, and Firefox for everyday use.
  • Bookmark Manager Self Hosted Hoarder for managing bookmarks.

Hardware

My hardware setup is designed for performance, portability, and reliability:

  • Primary Laptop: MacBook M2 Pro
  • Secondary Laptop: ThinkPad T495s, a dependable Linux device ideal for certain jobs, serves as the secondary laptop. I can stay linked to the Linux community with it as well.
  • Phone: iPhone 15 Pro Natural Titanium
  • Smartwatch: Apple Watch Series 9 for fitness tracking
  • E-book Reader: Kindle Paperwhite 5 (Signature Edition) for comfortable reading.
  • Power Bank: Baseus Blade HD Laptop Power Bank (100W, 20000mAh). I can use it to charge every gadget I bring on vacation. I don’t have to worry about charging my electronics while I travel.
  • Secondary Phone: Samsung A70. I can keep up with the Android ecosystem thanks to it.

Cryptocurrency and Security

  • Cold Wallet: Ledger Nano S Plus for secure storage cryptocurrencies.

Android Apps

Although I am in the Apple ecosystem, I use some Android apps:

  • Maps: Organic Maps for privacy-focused, offline navigation.
  • OpenStreetMap Editor: Street Complete for easy contributions to OpenStreetMap.
  • Browser: Mull offers an Android browsing experience that prioritizes privacy.

Apple Apps

Enhancing the iOS experience with specialized apps:

  • Tracking Protection: AirGuard prevents tracking of unwanted AirTags and other tracking devices.
  • Device Scanning: iVerify for iOS device security.
  • Comic Reader: Panels for a smooth comic book reading experience.
  • Folder Encryption: Disk Decipter for secure file and folder encryption.
  • Server Status: ServerCat. It visualises the status of my server with a very nice ui.
  • SSH Client: I prefer Terminus because it is easy to use on the phone, even though I don’t use it mostly on the computer.
